Maia's 1st Birthday

Sunday was Maia's first birthday. Following a little breakfast and coffee by the river, we had post siesta birthday lunch, balloons, cake and presents. Here's the day in pictures and videos:

Leah's 3rd Birthday

Then the real business. Cake. Twenty minutes later sitting at the head of an empty table was Leah, quietly working her way through every last crumb.

Maia crawling

Second child syndrome. I am a second child, so you would think I would be more aware of the importance of fairness between and across siblings. Seems not. Leah had a monthly youtube video update, and her book of witticisms was regularly updated with love and adoration.

But not any more. It's all happening for little Maia, ever since she laughed at a joke I made. She's now got Leah's bed, which, coupled with the ability to crawl to her sister's oft unguarded toys, has made her suddenly an imdependent little monster. As the following clip indicates:
